 The Lycoming County SPCA is pleased to announce our annual Paws for a Cause Pet Walk. This event is being held on September 18, 2010.

WE HAVE LOTS OF PRE-WALK ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED THROUGHOUT LYCOMING COUNTY.  HERE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE EVENTS HAPPENING TO SUPPORT OUR ANNUAL WALK:

 Nail Clipping during Paws for a Cause!

Need your dog's nails clipped?  Oberjoch Kennels groomer, Kitty Strothers, will be on hand to clip your dog's nails for just $5.00.  And as a double benefit, they are donating the proceeds toward the walk goal.  So set aside $5.00 to get your dogs in tip-top shape.  Or should we say tip-toe?

 Sweet Temptations

 Sweet Temptations will be held Friday, November 5th, at the Genetti Hotel and Convention Center.  Tickets are just $25 and include a complimentary beverage, the opportunity to taste delicious desserts from area businesses, bid on wonderful silent auction items, and enjoy meeting successfully adopted animals.  Soon we will be adding pictures of auction items, availability of tickets, and tantalizing descriptions of desserts to be sampled!

 In celebration of National Adopt-a-Dog Month, Gustonian Gifts of Downtown Williamsport will host a Pet Fashion Show to benefit the Lycoming County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals on Friday, October 1 from 6:00 to 9:00pm. All proceeds benefit the SPCA as part of the First Friday event in downtown Williamsport. A rain-date for this event has been scheduled for October 2nd.

The fashion show will take place in the Pine Street Area and there is no charge to view the event. Those interested in participating in the fashion show may register at Gustonian Gifts, at the Lycoming County SPCA or on their websites, www.gustoniangifts.com or www.lycomingspca.org. The cost for registration is $10.00 per pet. All other donations of cash or animal-related supplies will also be accepted throughout the event.

Pets participating in the show must be friendly, licensed and up-to-date on vaccines. All participants will receive a prize and a discount coupon from Gustonain Gifts.

All Must be registered by 5:30 pm the night of the show. Show Begins at 6pm. Registration Forms can be obtained at Gustonian Gifts or at the SPCA’s 2805 Reach Road Shelter. Participant’s registration form, along with the $10.00 entry fee must be dropped off at Gustonian Gifts before 5:30 pm on October 1, 2010.

This event is fun-filled so mark your calendars and bring your pets for a night of fashion, prizes and fun! In addition, 20% of sales of clothing/costumes & accessories purchased at Gustonian Gifts during October First Friday’s will be donated to the SPCA.
